last night at the hospital

So- to add to earlier- we have spent the last few days here at the hospital just enjoying each other's company, having Charlie and me get checked out regularly by wonderful nurses, and sharing the joy of this new baby with family.

We are at the beginning of our last night here and we can't wait to be with Jack all the time again, but are also going to miss a lot of the ease and convenience and simplicity of being in this room where the main job is healing and feeding.

Tomorrow we embark on something totally different than this week- the real life of being a family of four with a newborn. I am so excited to set out on this adventure and know that God is going to help us figure it out. But at the same time- I know it is not going to be easy.

Today, here in the room- all four of your grandparents and your dad and I prayed with you both in our arms. We prayed that we remember that you are His- that you are on loan to us only and that you are entrusted into our care from God's hands so that we can show you His love, do our best to show you His hopes for you and trust Him that what happens with you is His will. That may seem like a lot of capital H- but believe me. This life is all about Him so that's why.
