So, you might have noticed that your dad and I are into the sport of baseball by now. Last night, we took you, still in my stomach of course, to your first Angels baseball game for opening night-- the beginning of baseball being celebrated all day by us and your uncle Jeff as a semi-holiday. It was so fun walking to our seats only about ten rows from the field that we treated ourelves to since you will be arriving soon. We know that we will not make it to our usual dozen or so games. That's okay-- you'll probably be worth it-- just kidding! Of course you are worth it!
It was a great game. Usually a great game is a nail biter that goes back and forth between hits and great plays on both sides so that no one knows who is going to win. But not on opening night-- on opening night, the explanation of a great game means that the Angels won 3-0 and there was not doubt they were in control the whole game. I hope that you feel the magic of baseball when you walk into a stadium on opening day or any game during your life-- it is just one of those simple joys of life that God allows us to have for no reason other than entertainment.
Switching topics--today we had an appointment to see if I am beginning to dilate to go into labor to have you. In that respect, the name of this blog entry is not accurate-- today was not opening day-- the doctor-- Dr. Rasha Hashad, literally laughed out loud when she checked my cervix-- she said that I am not even close to dilating and getting you out of here. That is okay with me because we get to be together all day anyway-- but your dad is ready to see you face to face. I also have a lot left to do at work. I have some tasks left to do to clean our apartment so that I am okay with your new little lungs breathing in this air. I also have more to read about how to help you sleep and how to help you get vaccinated and when. I am all too eager to keep you in there so that I can keep preparing-- but your dad is ready to meet you!
So, you may have two more weeks or even three-- I just want you to get all your development done and come out when you're ready-- in the meantime-- I'll be working on our apartment with baseball in the background and spring blooming outside!
