Uncle Jeff came to visit yesterday and today has been quite a day. You are both asleep and Uncle Jeff is blowing up the air mattress and I wanted to share with you a few things that happened so special today. First--- Charlie- you ate your rice cereal for the first time! First time having anything but breast milk. When Jack did this, I was very emotional and feeling a loss of closeness. Today- you are ready and that means that I am not so much sad as I am ready to help you get your belly full so that you can be happy longer. You did well- most of all you looked so small and cute sitting in the high chair that Jack is normally in. You did not know for sure what to do with this stuff we gave you, but you tried and smiled the whole time. You are just so cute!!!!
Jack- today you were your uncle Jeff's little man- playing in his truck, playing outside, saying "uncle Jeff" in your sweet small voice- it was a lot of smiles today. You two hung out and played in our little pool for a long time today and you never wanted to get out.
We went out to dinner for sushi (that's not what you had even though we tried) and we had to empty out the pool when we came home after dark. We went out into the backyard and I realized that you still needed a bath. So, I put on shorts, got in with you and I bathed you right there under the stars. Uncle Jeff and Charlie were in the hammock and dad in a patio chair while we giggled and you said that the stars were so beautiful. Your wonder at the world and being there in the pool outside under the stars with you tonight is something I will never forget. Truly a moment so sweet that I will not only never forget it-- it's one that I think I'll be able to feel what it was like whenever I want to get a little boost of love.
Good night little ones-
