talking talking all day long

Hi baby jack!

You are 15 months old and still the cutest in the world- for just a couple more months and then you will have a competitor. Lately you are just talking all the time. You make talking noises and singing noises as if you are constantly trying to understand how your voice works and what it can do. You smile and laugh at just about any old thing we do and we get you to laugh until you are breathless several times a day. It is just the best sound I've ever heard. Today at church when I picked you up from the toddler room ( wow you are so big!) the leader in the room said-- "he just talks and talks and smiles and looks at us for our response-- what a cutie!" Today you wore your nike sneakers and angels baseball matching shirt and shorts. oh my goodness.

Baby #2- we should know in this next week during our appointment to see whether you are a little baby brother or a baby sister. It will be such a different sensation this time learning if I have a boy or a girl in my belly now that we already have you Jack. Now we'll be thinking about how this perfect addition will interact and love you just as much as we are wondering how we will love him/her and we will be wondering how our hearts can possibly hold that much more love! We might explode!

As for recent mum lessons- I have been working on understanding what we are going to do about your little temper tantrums. They are not so serious at this time but they will be and your dad and I think that you are so cute that we may likley give in to you more than we should on accident. What you do is grunt, then whine, then cry when you have something taken away from you. Right now we just let you cry for a minute and then get you distracted with something else. We'll see-- if you turn into a spoiled brat for a time- I might tell you, I might not. hee hee.

#2- if you are a girl, your name will be Lucy Grace. If you are a boy, I have to admit it's still not totally decided. We like Luke but don't know a middle name, like Peter, like Xander- I think if you are a boy, we will spend some serious time together deciding on a name. For now, we have mostly tried to call you a different name every time we mention you to try on new things all the time. I am so excited to tell you next week when we find out.

Jack- this next week you'll be having a doctor's appointment as well. At this appointment you'll have two more carefully planned behind schedule vaccines. We'll also be talking to the doctor about your height and weight and discussing estimates about how tall you may be one day. Hoping you'll be taller than me but not too tall that I can't snuggle you whenever I want.
