1st Day at Disneyland!!!

Hello Jack and number 2!

Today was a very special day for our family- we got to take Jack to Disneyland for the first time! We were able to get signed in for free by one of dad's old friends and coworkers. That is really awesome because we don't have an extra $150 right now.

Although I would like to write for a long time about what today meant to both of us, I am so tired I can hardly see straight and number two is making me feel so sick that I need to go to bed. So, I'll keep it short.

My grandma Sue, always had us all go on Pirates of the Caribbean first. So, I decided that would be your first ride in your life. All of a sudden, I saw that ride through your eyes-- very scary. You cried and held on to me and did not enjoy yourself at all. My fault.

Then we went on small world, winnie the pooh and the jungle cruise that you liked better- even though they were all a little too loud for you. You refused to go to sleep the entire day. You just kept looking around trying to take in all the craziness that is Disneyland. When we did finally get home an hour past your bed time, you were mumbling your baby talk to yourself with your eyes half open. and looking up at your prized souvenir- a huge mouse ear balloon.

Disneyland was an extremely special part of dad's and my childhood and also adulthood. So- we are interested to see what changes occur there and what role it will play for you as kids. We hope to be able to do what our parents did which is go with you at opening and close the place down. That is a long day--- but we hope to do it if you want to.

It was amazing to walk through the park pushing our stroller with you Jack and know that another family member is busy growing hair this week! and to know that somehow, we have gone from being kids ourselves, to a young couple to a family in what seems like the blink of an eye.

We love you both so much and hope that Disneyland is a place that you will love.
