a Shoilet

Oh boys—how we love Saturdays together as a family. Today, Jack and I started our day with a swimming lesson. It was… horrible. Basically- you would not follow a single direction, can’t swim so I couldn’t let you go, but then you struggled with me the whole time making it hard to hold you not to mention crying and whining the entire time. I tell you this because—I overcame. I love you so much and I overcame. I know that you are cautious and that you are afraid of water- but today you were just being difficult. I have no idea if what I got through is going to bear fruit in the future and you are going to do better next week- or if we are in for another long class next time. You are an absolute joy approximately 80% of ALL time. That’s pretty good- I’m a 32% at best.

That was the bad story- here’s the good story:
We decided to have you take a shower with me when we got back from swimming so that we could get to Skype with Honey and Grampa sooner. While in the shower, you started to pee in the shower. I said, “Jack, we don’t pee in the shower! Please do not pee in the shower. We can help you use the toilet if you need to pee!” You looked up at me and said, “mama, I don’t use the toilet when I am in the shower. This is the shoilet!” I asked you to repeat it ( as I do every genius thing you say). You said, “ the shoilet is the shower toilet- I peed in the shoilet. That’s funny!”

Yes Jack- that is funny.
