This summer, Honey and Grampa have visited two times for a week and it has been so much fun watching you both interact with them and them enjoy you. Charlie has been held a lot, rocked out of his fussiness by Grampa multiple times and all parts of daily routine have had new things added to them in grandparent style. Honey and Grampa got to enjoy putting you both down for naps, down for the night, feeding you meals, playing with you- everything. It was such a surreal experience to be an adult child with my parents and my children. Life is going too fast. I am sure I will further trip out someday when/if I get the absolute blessing of sitting with either of you and your own children. I can only imagine the explosion of love that happens in a person's heart to be a grandparent.
Jack, you have begun the adventure of using the toilet. Honey started it by asking you if you wanted to try it, then you were really excited. So, you now have your own "Cars" toilet. It has a little gear shift on the side like a flush. I will have to give you updates on how it progresses, but where it's at now- you are good at sitting down, peeing, and then doing the flush. Then, you can very precariously take the little basin out with pee in and transport it to the big toilet and pour it in. Last night you were so proud and then got pee all over the floor. I decided not to overreact in front of you- that was not easy!
When my parents left this week, I was really choked up- I felt the sting of not having them nearby to live daily life with in a way I have not felt in years. Not that I don't enjoy their company- but watching the joy you both feel to be with them and they with you- has been awesome.
Time to go hang out with daddy in the garage while he washes my car and you're both asleep. I have been off this past week just to be with you both and I go back to work tomorrow. I have to say- it is physically painful. I love being with you so much.
