what a week!!!!

Oh baby Jack-

Some weeks pass with no news to report in life but this is not one of them! Yesterday you had two huge developments! You took four steps in a row when trying to get to me and a plate of apple and peanut butter. You could not have it of course but you did not even notice what you had done. All of a sudden, you just let go of your grip on the couch and walked out! It was so amazing to see you do it and even more amazing to think how it will be second nature to you for most of your life and that dad and I both got to see you do it for the first time!

The second thing that happened yesterday is that you got your first haircut. Dad did half and I did half. We took video, still shots, saved your hair in a baggie and everything. You look absolutely adorable but you look like a little boy instead of a baby! It must be something about your little neck looking skinnier because it is not covered in curls.

The third thing that happened this week is that you accompanied mom and dad to the doctor's office to see for the first time, our new addition to the family!

This new little life is about 8 weeks along so we don't know who this will be, a sister named Lucy or a brother whose name we have not decided on. Either way you are going to be a great big brother.

And to you baby number two- I am praying for you right now, that you are getting strong in there. You grew fingers this week! It is hard to believe in my mind but as far as I how sick I feel- I believe you are doing just fine! I have not thrown up the way I did with your big brother Jack, but I do definitely feel like crap. I do not have the energy yet to figure out how we will be parents of two, for now I am just trying to make it through the day at work and enjoying Jack and dad.

Baby number two- thank you for working so hard in there. I can't wait to meet you. I already love you and know that you are going to have so much fun with us. Your big brother has done a very good job so far as a little son- bringing joy and smiles. I know that you will do the same. I expect you to cry more and not follow your schedule as well, but that is because Jack has been pretty easy. No pressure! he he.

To the two of you-- what I hope more than anything I have ever hoped before- is that you will love eachother. That you will truly care for eachother and be friends for your whole life. Talk to you soon!
