ohhh-- toooo fast!!!!

Every night right now I flop into bed and think to myself-- I didn't write to Jack on his blog. When he's older, he'll think-- what was going on around my birthday?

Well-- here is what is going on- you are absolutely melting our hearts with your eyebrow raises, laughs and new facial expressions. You are exhausting us with your new found desire to be on the move all the time. You are perplexing us as you choose to play with only items that are NOT toys. You will look out in front of you and pick the one thing we would want you to avoid and that is the thing you want.

Your birthday party was sooo fun. The entire weekend we had family around to adore you and the changes you have made since their last visit. Everyone just looked at you and hoped that you would laugh, smile, and do the things you do.

60 people showed up for your party. Your dad made an amazing taco bar of food. Everyone asked who catered the food. Your dad did. Barbara made two of the biggest bowls of beautiful fruit that I have ever seen. Your dad made cupcakes for everyone but made a little round gluten free cake for you. We all spent a half hour or so watching you try to figure out what you were supposed to do with it! We got alot of pictures and videos of the whole thing.

You got an amazing stack of new toys and clothes from everyone. You were completely "on" from about 8am until 8pm and you were a complete joy for every minute of it. For a one year old-- I think that is outstanding. And so par for the course of your demeanor.

You are sooo close to walking. You stand unassisted and look around thinking about what is supposed to come next. Then, you sit down. I'll let you know when it happens.
