the reluctant napper

hello jack-

You are upstairs crying yourself to sleep for a nap right now. You are so tired that you can't keep your eyes open and yet snuggled in your crib with a favorite bear-- you won't submit. This reminds me of a bad trait in myself so I hope you can shake it before you are too much like me in that way. Learning to submit in the right situations is a valuable skill.

I have been too busy to write lately-- but mostly because when I am with you-- I try to be 100% with you. When you go to bed- I try to be 100% with your dad. And when I am at work-- it demands about 150%.

So the mum lessons I have been working through-- especially as a full time working mom-- are endurance and consistency. In order to keep all your supplies stocked, your clothes clean, you cared for and fed and breastfed, while paying the bills and keeping the house clean, this all means that I don't generally have the ability to say-- "awww forget it-- I'll get to it later." You are still crying. Stand by.
