Hi Jack--
It is a Saturday morning and I am cleaning the house with the movie Goonies in the background, which you will love one day and your dad is out running to get ready for a marathon in 6 weeks.
I found a small slip of paper that I obviously wrote to myself at some point but I don't remember when. It just said psalm 139:14. I turned to this in my Bible and it is already highlighted and I realize that you need to know this. God already knows all about you. He already knows the things you will do, what you will look like and who you will be. He is prepared to love you and He already knows whether you will ultimately choose His love or not. I don't know any of these things about you and some of them I never will. So I thought I would type in here what God knows about you and the amazing work that he is doing to make your body.
Psalm 139:14-16
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous- how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day in my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Psalm 139:14-16
I hope you find that amazing and beautiful instead of a bummer. Once that I read this, I remember thinking- what a bummer that my life is not an unwritten adventure. Actually- it is an unwritten adventure to you- but God already knows the story and still can't wait to watch it. Just like me watching the movie Goonies for the millionth time. I know the lines, I know which scene comes next. Sometimes I wish they would do something different. But I still love to watch it. I still love the characters just as they are.
God loves you so much and can't wait to watch you live.
