Jack T—you have really taken potty training control over from us—as if we were ever in control!
This past week, after literally a year and a half of gently working on it—you have finally taken to using the potty and wearing underwear. We still have a long, long way to go until you are done—but a stress has been lifted from our house now that you are no longer refusing the entire process.
This week, I took you just the two of us to Marshall’s and you picked out three new packs of underwear. You held them while we were waiting for a register, you placed them up on the counter to buy them and you carried that bag out of the store. As we walked out- we held hands and you looked up at me in a completely adoring way. I smiled back at you, swallowing back tears and knew it was one of hundreds of moments that I will cherish for my whole life.
