The sweet stuff-- pool time

This week I am off work to be a mom. It's exhausting and much more work than being at work. But it is much more fun also. We are having a great time at our new house with the backyard realizing that the times that people daydream about--- for us it is right now! We can't miss it being too tired!

Today Noni came over and hung out with Charlie so that Jack and I could go to the pool. Jack- you are a safe and cautious little boy. You deal best with taking things slow. Now that we know this about you, I have spent the last few days preparing you that we were going to go to the pool, showing you what you were going to wear and telling you what we might do in the water, etc. And then when we got there, I could not just walk you into the pool, we stood on the edge and talked for a while and then stood on the first step, then the next and so on. It took about 30 minutes to get you holding onto me in the 4ft deep area, spinning around and laughing and squealing at the top of your lungs. But in those moments, where you put your cheek against mine and laughed and said, " again mama!!!" were the very best. I drove home while you repeated things like, "pool, fun, splash on steps, spinning around, blowing bubbles, kick." What a fun time. You are teaching me so well to be in the moment that is happening. So hard for me as a person who made a 60 item to-do list before I got off work to head home for a week "off" but you are doing it. When we were in the pool- nothing else existed at all.
